About Abigail
Hello, and welcome to my website! My name is Abigail Burdick and photography is my passion. I love witnessing moments in peoples lives and capturing them through a lens. A look, or an expression that comes and goes in a fleeting moment can be captured on camera, and then framed and treasured for many years to come.
The sessions I enjoy most are when I can just follow the children, or adults, around and just stay in the background, taking photos of them being themselves. Some of the sweetest pictures, or the most tender moments, come when people are unaware of me taking their picture.
Before our session I like to find out if you have any special poses you want incorporated. (Example: A family portrait, one of each of the children individually, some of the father and mother together, then just miscellaneous photos of the family together.) Some people have a certain layout in mind and want to use it, so feel free to ask.
My photo sessions are held outdoors. I do take "portrait" photos. If you have an event (graduation, wedding, engagement, anniversary...) coming up, and want posed pictures I will be happy to do that. I do not have a studio yet, so the location would have to be decided on. In your church, or your home, in your own yard, if you like. I am open to new areas. Please share any places you know about and would recommend.
I love themed or special event sessions too. If you have family photos you want taken, let me help you plan it. We can discuss what type of photos you are wanting: relaxed, formal, casual, holiday, etc. From there we can decide what location would work best, and then on to what the clothing should be. Usually talking with the photographer about what you are really wanting helps lay it out in your own mind as well as gives the photographer a better grasp of what you want. I would be happy to help you decide on the location, layout, and theme! Depending on the location you choose, and what the time of year is, it really helps in narrowing down the theme you are wanting to portray. I want my photo sessions to be relaxing for you, as well as anyone else who is being photographed. We can lay it out and organize it so that all you have to do when we get together is enjoy yourself and smile!
I do take landscape photos. My brother-in-law and father build custom homes, Willis Sinclair Homes, and they let me photograph their homes when they are completed.
